Jet Tailsitter, Point Defense Fighter - A shipborne VTOL point defense fighter.

Throttle Hover Point (approximate) = 36%
AG8 = Gyroscope On/Off
VTOL = Open canopy

F5 = Landing Cam (Points forward and slightly down when aircraft is vertical)
F6 = Flight Cam (Points forward when aircraft is horizontal)
F7 = Touchdown Cam (Points downwards when aircraft is vertical)

For takeoff: Advance throttle, full nose down pitch, turn off gyroscope (AG8) at approximately 100 mph.

For landing: Fly controlled approach with landing zone at 150 mph and 500 ft, turn on gyroscope (AG8), and control descent with throttle. Hovers around 36%, so vary throttle +- 5%. To arrest sharp descents, give a 1-2s blast of 100% and return to 40% or so, and see how your sink rate is affected (repeat if necessary).

Choosing an appropriate view for landing can be challenging. For a controlled approach, the landing cam (F5) works well, and if you lose sight of your landing zone the touchdown cam (F7) helps. You can also land in 3rd person well using the orbit view (F3).

Because the aircraft is oriented vertically, the chase view is wonky, as rotating around the aircraft actually rotates around the longitudinal axis when in horizontal flight. For the same reason the attitude indicator is not aligned properly.
