It can carry a significant payload of ground attack weaponry such as bombs, HVAR rockets, and eight .50 caliber machine guns, making it a formidable fighter-bomber. When not equipped with ground ordnance, the P-47D-70B serves effectively as a high-speed interceptor and air superiority fighter, thanks to its rugged airframe and powerful R-2800 engine. Even though is was very low agility against enemies like Bf-109 but is strong enough to take and survive enemy attacks.
