During the cold war the IS-3 is one of the most powerful tanks in its time, and concerns of another world war is all time high. The Japanese Government assigned Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to work on a design that can compete with the Soviet IS-3, in late 1949 the design is finish and its now ready to be built and put into the test. 2 Versions we're made. The first one, Version 1 wasnt equipped with the Experimental 133mm gun by the Americans, and the Version 2 had the 133mm equipped. The tank went into a several tests and it shows that the suspension was poorly manufactured and cant support the overall weight the tank, when going up hills the Engine will overheat and causing it to blow up and catch fire. The 133mm adds 5 more tonns in the tank. After the testing the project was later scrapped and all the resources used in the project would later be used for other projects.
