Fokker D.XXIX

119k DestinyAviation  7.2 years ago

Notes:
-Good cockpit view
-Takeoff can be tricky, seeing as the plane wants to tip to the left
-Before you load into the flight, take the bomb on the left wing and reattach it

Controls:
-Action group 1: Drop fuselage bomb (250kg)
-Action group 2: Drop wing bombs (50kg)

History: The Fokker D.XXIX (29) was designed in late 1936 to meet the requirement for a single-seat dive bomber that could exceed speeds over 200mph (~321km/h). It had a top speed in level flight of about 230 mph, thus meeting the criteria for the contract. It was put into mass production on March 21, 1937, after the design had been revised several times. By the time Poland was invaded in 1939, Denmark only had 1,200 Fokker D.XXIX aircraft in their air force. On August 12, 1938, Denmark pushed Fokker to produce and deliver an additional 2,500 aircraft. By the time Germany invaded Denmark on April 6, 1940, only 950 of the 2,500 aircraft had been added to to the original 1,200. The Fokker D.XXIX was deployed to combat the German army, but proved to be a sitting duck to the swarms of Bf-109 aircraft used by the Luftwaffe. As a result, the Fokker D.XXIX was only used as a close air support aircraft, and most of the time subjugated to flying reconnaissance missions instead of its intended role. By 1941, all of the Danish Fokker D.XXIX aircraft had been seized, with only a few being kept in one piece for testing. Only two survive to this day, with one in critical condition. Both are housed at the Aerostyle Military Archive facility.

@DestinyAviation Could I contact you privately? Wouldn't want any prying eyes :) Feel a bit like Lockheed Martin when they were designing the YF-22

@DestinyAviation you got a real knack for designing planes that's for sure. I was hoping you could help me with a plane I'm working on. Let's just say said plane has quite a few handling problems XD

When I flew it, it didn't explode. Do you mean on takeoff it explodes? Or as soon as it loads into the world? @EliteIndustries1 & @RandyAndSonsAircraft
