AMRMPM-1 Swatter on Crappy the Testplane

26.3k BRuthless  7.9 years ago

The AMRMPM-1 (Advanced Medium-Range Multi-Purpose Missile) "Swatter" was designed to reduce the pain that comes with choosing the right missile type for a specific situation. It can lock and destroy air and ground based targets with a combination of three different homing systems. It has a weight of 115 lbs with detacher.

Launch-Modes:
- Interceptor
- Guardian
- Inferno

Launch procedures:
Switch to the launch-mode that suits the current situation best, lock the target, launch the rocket engine (FireWeapon) and then press the appropriate AG to detach the missile (first missile = AG1, second missile = AG2).

When you have a good range to an airborne target (3-5 miles), you can lock it in Interceptor-Mode first, launch the first rocket engine, switch to Guardian-Mode (you keep the lock when you are in range), launch the second rocket engine and then detach the missile. With this procedure the missile has more acceleration, more speed and, as long as you keep the lock with the Guardian, also more maneuverability.

Things you SHOULDN'T do when using them on your planes to prevent malfunctions and explosions:
- Move the missile on any other part than the pylon, otherwise the connections that were put into the XML will be broken
- Mirror the missile (pull the missile on the pylon and save it as a subassembly, then add missiles by dragging them from your subassemblies onto your creation)
- Mirror the whole creation after you have placed a missile on it (except when it's exactly in the center)
- Have the AGs of the pylons out of launch order

Feel free to use it on your creations!

Feedback and suggestions are appreciated!
Cheers! :)

@CL4TRP It's the crappiest plane I have in my list. I put it together in basically no time some months ago to use it for custom weapon testing. Performance isn't that bad indeed and it can carry quite a bit of load, as I modded it's weight down. :D
