Derived from the XFA-27, the Firebird was meant to be just as capable as its original version, while also cutting down on production costs. It featured internal weapons bays capable of holding atleast 12 air to air missiles, along with increasing its stealth capabilites. Unfortunately, due to reportedly subpar preformance during trials, few airframes would make it into service.
