The 80th anniversary
livery of Cathay Pacific aims to pay tribute to the original striped style that was introduced in the 1940s and has been popular for decades, as well as symbolizing the historical heritage from the Kai Tak era to the new airport at Chek Lap Kok. The B-LRJ aircraft is an Airbus A350-941 passenger plane operated by Cathay Pacific Airways, with manufacturer serial number (MSN) 061. It was delivered in December 2016 and is approximately 9 years old. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Cathay Pacific, this aircraft will be repainted with a "retro salad leaf" theme in Xiamen by the end of 2025, and will make its maiden flight to San Francisco on January 6, 2026. At present, the fuselage adopts the classic green horizontal stripe coating from the 1970s to 1980s, making it the first Cathay Pacific aircraft to wear the 80th anniversary commemorative coating.
