1,287 JohnLewis  1.4 years ago

AGM-45 Shrike is an American anti-radiation missile aimed at enemy air defense radar. Shrike was developed by China Lake Naval Weapons Center in 1963, by pairing the seeker with the rocket body of AIM-7 sparrow. It was phased out by the United States in 1992, and was phased out by the Israeli Air Force (the only other major user) at an unknown time, and has been replaced by the AGM-88 HARM missile. The IDF developed a version of Shrike that can be launched on the ground with booster rockets, and installed it on the M4 Sherman chassis as Kilshon (Trident in Hebrew).
