The Vought F4U Corsair is an American fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. Designed and initially manufactured by Chance Vought.
The Corsair was designed and principally operated as a carrier-based aircraft, and entered service in large numbers with the U.S. Navy and Marines in World War II. It quickly became one of the most capable carrier-based fighter-bombers of the war. Some Japanese pilots regarded it as the most formidable American fighter and U.S. naval aviators achieved an 11:1 kill ratio.
The F4U-1D "Kohimarama IX" (RNZAF serial number NZ5485) was a specific Vought F4U-1D Corsair fighter aircraft that served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
AG1 for canopy, AG2 for wing fold, AG3 for arresting hook, AG4 for nav lights, VTOL down for flaps, trim for trim.
Armed with 6 50cal browning machine guns and 1x M65 1000lb bomb.
This aircraft is my silver special perhaps? Too lazy to make dedicated plane for silver lol (and anything i make that is not a replica is terrible).
