History: The VF-99 Striker was designed for the Next Generation Stealth Fighter Program, which was meant to replace the VF-81 Thorn and as part of the Race for Stealth aircraft, so that the Federation of Spycca can be the first country to successfully design a Stealth Aircraft. There were several aircraft which were considered, such as the VF-91 Marauder and VF-88 Crimson, which were considered at first until A.R.E.S Military Arms Corporation submitted the VF-99 Striker, which was immediately chosen for military use. Only 55 of them were ever built due to how expensive there were, and only 32 remain. 11 of them were shot down by hostile aircraft, and 12 suffered mechanial failure. They were put to the test during the Lorelian Invasion and they performed well, however the aircraft did not perform as well as the Spyccan Airforce thought they would, and were forced to use older aircraft such as the VFA-67 Viper and VF-72 Hound to put up a fight. The VF-99s that survived the war were quickly retired in favor of the VF-109 Valkyrie. There were several cost overruns during the development of the VF-99 however it was chosen because it was still cheaper and easier to maintain than the other designs. Overall, the VF-99 Striker was an exceptional aircraft that was overestimated and tasked with missions that were outside the limits of the aircraft.
