History:
History for this airplane is sketchy. What I could dig up was that is was a project to create a Shturmovik with the new M-81 engine Shvetsov was building. Offensive armament was two .50 cal UBS machine guns, and two .30 cal ShKAS machine guns in the lower fuselage. The UBS machine guns were replaced by 23mm VYa-23 cannon later in the development process. Either two 250 lb bombs or one 500 lb bomb on a rack could be carried under the fuselage. Provision was made for four RS-82 or RS-132 rockets under the outer wings. This superb airplane was rejected because of the cancellation of Shvetsov's M-81 engine.
