{Short lore: The navy was looking for new planes after entering world war two, obviously Mustang Aeronautics(now Lynette Aeronautics & Machining) pitched in to redeem themselves after their failures in the first world war, the navy thought long and hard before denying the F-21 the day after it was first proposed, chosing the XP-29 in favor of a highly maneuverable fighter, only for it to be given to the Marines a year later as sloppy seconds, the F-21 was then revisited and was found to be effective in naval combat and saw service from 1943 to it's little service in the early parts of the Vietnam war.
