The C-12 Globe Runner Was the first ever plane to go from New York to London in 1947. Its first ever flight took place on July 27, 1942, and it took off at an airport somewhere in south Carolina near Myrtle Beach. after 20 minutes, the plane was brought down, and was fitted with seats in the cargo bay a week after the first flight. 502 of these planes were made, and all were sold to airlines. The plane held 62 people, and had 1562 flights, carrying a total of 96403 passengers to their destination. it was retired in 1962, once jet airliners were introduced.
