9M-MAT:

  1. Malaysia Airlines – Original 1977 livery
Entered service in September 1977 with Malaysia Airlines (then Malaysian Airline System) sporting its original paint scheme.
This “classic” livery (red-blue cheatline with the wau bulan tail) remained unchanged for over four years. The first livery update came when it switched to a revised MAS livery on January 6, 1982—photographed in Sydney sporting this fresh look .

  2. Malaysia Airlines – Revised livery (1982–1994)
From January 1982 until its lease to LOT in June 1994, 9M‑MAT flew in the updated MAS colors.

  3. LOT Polish Airlines – Hybrid livery (June–September 1994)
On 23 June 1994, the aircraft began its lease with LOT, adopting the hybrid livery: Malaysia Airlines fuselage paired with LOT’s tail design .

  4. Northwest Airlines – Standard livery (Feb 1996–2006)
After the LOT lease ended in late 1995, the aircraft was sold to Northwest Airlines and re-registered N233NW in February 1996, receiving Northwest’s corporate paint until its retirement in 2006.
