Description
The Douglas AT-1 is a modification that was modified extensively for firefighting use. It's original aircraft base was the Douglas A-1 Skyraider.
History
To replace aging firefighting aircraft, Douglas A-1s were converted to firefighting use, 53 of which were from surplus, and 7 were from combat and were decommissioned. The aircraft proved reliable and robust in terms of its firefighting job, in present day it is still being used
