The Nakajima J1N1 Gekko "Moonlight" is a twin-engine aircraft used by the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II and was used for reconnaissance, night fighter, and kamikaze missions. The first flight took place in May 1941. It was given the Allied reporting name "Irving", since the earlier reconnaissance version the J1N1-C, was mistaken for a fighter.

J1N1-S is equipped with the angled-barrel. It is invented by Yasuna Kozono, commander of the Japanese Imperial Navy Air Corps. In order to intercept the USA AF B-17 bombing a Japanese base in the South Pacific, he ordered the reconnaissance plane J1N1 to install a 20mm cannon at the rear of the cockpit at an angle of 30 degrees. The remodeled "interceptor" was shot down several times on B - 17, so it was mass - produced as an interceptor in earnest. It was deployed mainly in Atsugi from 1944, and it was used for interception of B - 29 without escorts.

@BogdanX next time I try to hide the control surface in the fuselage. Since angled-barrel is a unique equipment seen in the Axis interceptor, please try it. Thank you!
