This is my entry to MAHADI’s WWII Jets Challenge. (The P-68 is a fictional strike fighter created in an alterante timeline.) After the devastating loss on the beaches of Normandy, France, the Allies were forced back across the English Channel. The enemy’s forces had been massively underestimated. They had the Allies 100 to 1 on everything. A retalitory Axis strike landed on the Southern Coasts of England, and within weeks the remaining Allied forces and been wiped out and Britain had surrendered. Realizing the potential of a Blitzkreig attack in North America, America and Canada created the North American Air Defense Program or NAADP. NAADP was the program responsible for upping production of fighters and bombers already in production, as well as creating new stop gap aircraft. The P-68 was one of the latter. The P-68 was built originally to be used as a close air support aircraft. It used a revolutionary new jet engine, allowing it to out run even the fastest propeller driven aircraft and avoid anti air artillery. As aircraft could be built faster than runways, the P-68 was forced to use a offroad cart that would be used for takeoff on rough terrain. This latter feature, combined with it’s reliable systems, ability to be flown with little training, and heavy cannons, gained it respect with the North American Civilian Defensive Militias as well as many resistance fighters in Europe. This particular airframe was designated P-68-FR, used by a group of partisan fighters in France. The FR version was used by the French Underground Resistance to destroy ground targets, as well as a interceptor capable of blowing bombers out of the sky. Being unmarked and of a simple design, it was widely used by many diffrent groups. AG.1 for the detachmeant of the cart. Regualer aircraft controls otherwise. Be careful not to get found by the enemy. And by the way. Use those 150mm cannons. They tear through panzers like a hot steak knife through melted butter.
