300 AirCombatant98  10 months ago

The F7H-2 Whale Shark is a naval heavy fighter that first flew in 1955, with the F7H-1 being rushed to completion, armed with only guns, and sent to the South Vietnamese Air Force in 1958, following the escalation of the situation in the area. The F7H-2 was given flares, chaff, and 6 Sidewinders, first entering service with VF-111 "Sundowners" on angled deck carriers in 1960, and then to other squadrons and countries. The F7H was in service from 1958 with South Vietnam first, to 1995, after being retired by Brazil. There were 3 major variants, this one, F7H-6, and then F7H-15. This is a 1960 armament fit.
