Blohm Und Voss Bv P.172
History:
Two more asymmetric Stuka projects: BV.P.168 and BV.P.172 were very similar in layout and dimensions. Both were powered with one radial BMW 801 engine. The P.172 main difference was the huge tube protruding from the tail (similar to those of BV.P.178). This device is probably the auxiliary rocket engine for emergency power boost needed during take-off or under enemy attack.
