Description

The LF-709 “Shadow” represents a revolutionary leap in aerial combat technology. Designed and built by the Clover Aerospace Division in Aerensport, Tarania’s aerospace capital, it embodies a future-forward platform capable of unmatched stealth, speed, and lethality.

Its radar cross section rivals that of a worker ant, allowing it to operate deep within contested airspace undetected. Coupled with an advanced active fuel cooling system that envelopes the airframe and engines, the Shadow maintains optimal thermal signatures and engine performance, even during prolonged hypersonic flight.

Currently, the Shadow is equipped with Guardian Mk.1 missiles optimized for agile dogfighting and Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM), alongside MS-234 AXRAAMS for effective Beyond Visual Range (BVR) engagements. It carries an internal 20mm high-velocity railgun and a proven 20mm M61A1 rotary cannon of U.S.L. origin, providing versatile close-range firepower. The jet’s internal hypersonic missile system is slated for operational deployment in 2035, further enhancing its offensive capabilities.

Originally launched on February 9, 2025—the symbolic anniversary of both Clover Aerospace’s founding (1935) and Tarania’s independence from Arionia (1964)—the Shadow is the culmination of decades of engineering excellence and national pride.

Combat Debut & Historical Significance (LORE)

Battle of the Taranic Sea — December 1, 2025
As dawn broke over the Taranic Sea, the skies carried the weight of an impending storm. Five Arionian BQ-47D bombers breached Taranian airspace, their course set directly for Aerensport—the vital aerospace hub and symbol of Taranian resilience.

These BQ-47Ds, widely recognized as cheap ripoffs of the AB-238 “Maryland Eagle” bombers developed decades earlier, lacked the advanced technology and durability of their inspiration. Unbeknownst to the enemy, a lone LF-709 “Shadow,” callsign WRAITH-1, was already tracking their approach, its radar cross section so minuscule it remained invisible to even the most advanced Arionian sensors.

With precision and lethal efficiency, WRAITH-1 closed in, choosing to engage the bombers at close range to conserve its missile stockpile for future conflicts. Activating its internal 20mm M61A1 rotary cannon, a weapon of U.S.L. origin renowned for its reliability and devastating rate of fire, the Shadow unleashed a withering barrage.

In under two minutes, the five bombers were reduced to flaming wrecks, their coordinated assault shattered before it could begin. Not a single missile was fired; the silent predator of the skies had spoken through sheer firepower and unmatched skill.

This remarkable feat, dubbed Operation Ghost Talon, not only averted a catastrophic strike on Aerensport but also sent a clear message: Tarania’s aerospace supremacy was a force to be reckoned with.

The engagement marked the dawn of the Taranian–Arionian War, galvanizing Tarania’s allies—including Lykania, Ruskovia, and the U.S.L.—to prepare for what was to come. Though responses from these nations had yet to arrive, hope remained that unity against aggression was imminent.

Santa Francisco Chronicles — Special Issue Excerpt: “The Shadow Strikes”

On the morning of December 1st, 2025, as dawn painted the skies over the Taranic Sea, a momentous event unfolded—one that would reverberate across the world and forever change the face of modern warfare.

Five Arionian bombers crossed into sovereign airspace with the intent to destroy Aerensport, but they did not succeed.

Hidden in the shadows was the LF-709 “Shadow”, Tarania’s most advanced fighter jet. With unparalleled stealth and precision, callsign WRAITH-1 engaged and destroyed all five hostile bombers in under two minutes using only its internal 20mm M61A1 rotary cannon.

This feat marked the dawn of the Taranian–Arionian War and demonstrated that Tarania’s aerospace future leads the world.

In response, Tarania has called upon its allies—including Lykania, Ruskovia, the U.S.L., and many others—to stand united against Arionian aggression. As of publication, no official responses have been received, but answers are expected soon.

Chairman’s Reflection

“We did not just build a plane. We built a message; Tarania is not behind. It’s already ahead.”

“The countless late nights and endless cups of Taranian black roast have paid off. The Shadow is not just a fighter jet—it is a statement. Tarania stands ready, ahead of its time and ready to defend every inch of its land and sky.”

— Elric Thorne, Chairman, Clover Aerospace Division
