Alternate history:

In 1943 the Germans advance into the Soviet Union is slowed, unfortunately the Wermacht successfully capture the Caucasus, a massive oil field in southwestern Soviet Russia. These new found natural resources help fuel the German war machine, the Soviets just barely stop the capture of Moscow.

In January 1945 the allies land at Normandy, successfully setting up bases of operations on the northern coast of France. They are met with heavy resistance from German fighters and new unprecedented jet planes, in order to counter this the American B-29 urgently needed to be replaced. As the B36 continues its development the B-19 is designed as an easy-to-build stop gap while better technology is engineered. Much like the M3 lee to the Sherman. Due to the extra need for manpower, the Army Air Air Forces is disbanded and the US Air Force is born in 1945.

The B19, designed with 12, 3000 horsepower turboprops becomes infamous for its ruggedness and ability to fly with multiple dead engines. The B-36 is put into service as the allies make a final push into Berlin on 1947.
