The M53 Stryker HRV (Heavy Reconnaissance Vehicle), is another variant of the M28 Basilisk. It is armed with a modified and up-gunned M55 Ardent II turret, armed with a brand-new UDO M565 105mm cannon, not meant to take on heavy armor at standoff distances. It is designed to hide, recon enemy forces, and either retreat back to friendly lines, or when a main assault has begun, to provide intermediate to long range fire support and flanking maneuvers. This does not mean that it is unarmored. It is slightly less Armored than an M28 to make it lighter, but still carries a TUSK kit. The M53 has a crew of three: driver, gunner, and commander. The gunner and commander have no one hatch, rather they use the convenient rear door. The tank has no loader, as the turret is unmanned. This will replace much older recce versions of the Scorpion and Rhino.
