Description

The P-12 "Yenisei" (NATO reporting name "Spoon Rest A") was an early VHF radar developed and operated by the former Soviet Union. The P-12 included a new antenna feed system with lower side lobes, greater frequency range, and greater frequency agility, being able to retune to four pre-set frequencies automatically as well as automatic frequency fine tuning. The P-12 had greater accuracy with improved detection range (250 km) and better protection against passive and active interference. The P-12 is mounted on two Zil trucks, one for the radar itself and the other for the control station, the antenna was composed of twelve Yagi antenna mounted in sets of six with one set above the other. Azimuth was scanned mechanically by the antenna with a rotation of 10 RPM, the P-12 served in Vietnam and the Middle East in conjunction with the S-75 SAM system.

In this SimplePlanes version, well it's a 1:1 scale replica of the Zil-135 with the P-12 radar carriage, however the difference between this one and the one on the S-75 site is that the radar can be folded and stored inside the carriage (the whole thing is also drivable), it's a bit scuffed as the actual P-12 didn't have automatic extend and retract mechanism as the radar needs to be dismantled by crew, but no one wants to drive with 12 TV antennas on their roofs so yeah, the Zil-135 itself is rather simple with a basic interior and basic doors, it had a max speed of 40km/h and is AWD, and the two blinkers light up front works along with the headlights.
