Following the success of the original R-21 Reconnaissance craft in the Blanquian-Bigtopian War of 2002, the Naval Forces of The People's Republic of Blanquia requested a carrier-based variant with comparable performance to the original. The existing design was trimmed down for both weight and space savings, while the nose was widened to house a more advanced radar. While sacrificing a small amount of speed and a more significant quantity of fuel, the R-21C provides the fleet air arm with a capable reconnaissance craft, and carries a favorable reputation among both aircrew and mechanics alike.
