inspired by [ @Wp0042 ], I made a wheelie smack'em large mech cause yknow YEA!
originally the design was aimed to be realistic.. then semi realistic... then I think fun's more important so I am definitely taking it into a gundam-esque approach of what works what works!!... well, still gonna make it semi-realistic, I'd probably go with kinda the... do any of you know the game "Forever Winter"? yeah exactly, that one mech with the CIWS, I'll make it something like that, though I'm still contemplating on whether I should go Avenger-style(the SPAA, not Moervl) in functionality, make it like idk, fancier boxed? but still manpads?
also, if you ask
"why's the mech so big?"
CAUSE I CAN!!....
okay fine, see those hull-missiles?(the one on the sides of the main body), i donnawanna ditch em, thas why.
byproduct of that is... now the mech's thigh thicc af.
anyway, this works great for racing!
and that's a temporary 75mm dual autocannon.. it's bullpup cause fxxk y'all I want COMPACT, I get full-sized cannon for CQB combat? yeah sign me up!
none of the weapons work yet(beside the gun... it's just a cannon. to make matters worse, it's still named "NS-23" which i took from Mi-2)
anyway somebody gimme a paint idea(no Hot Pink or retro, that one's reserved for the next one, a Minidrone that is basically this but human-sized for true urban combat)
also I don't speak a lick of Japanese, so I consulted a certified japaneser(my brother; Indonesian.) and confirmed that Natsukawa should mean Summer River or something?
oh and the "Yuubari" is a reference to the real Yuubari, a lightly-armored light cruiser that's fast, armed with decently heavy weapon?
originally it was "Fubuki" but I feel like since it's a medium mech and not light, it gets a one-up in class name(Fubuki are a famous class of Japanese Destroyers) and I gotta find one that suits the bill so between many choices I ended up with Yuubari(coincidentally my favourite cruiser)
for other names that I considered, are Kuma-class(good name, but it suits more if I made another one that is "older" in design), Agano-class(doesn't quite reflect the history I want it to), Mogami("Light" Cruiser; originally "CL" & turned CA) and lastly Aoba-class(which is a HEAVY cruiser but it looks kinda lightish so it's funny)

@Monarchii no way same as me, anyway do you already see my forum announcement 💀
@SAINAKAJIMA nah, can't. I am running on an old dying Samsung J5 which has like only 1gb ram lol
@Monarchii monaci did you plsy mp sp2 right now?
@SAINAKAJIMA tbf it's hella fun, makes me tempted to make an urban setting of sort just to stroll around in one
Roller blade mech era I think
@Wp0042 thanks! :3
@Graingy yis
@KatBapa20 third functioning prototype, actually.
.
I had a few that didn't quite work, including a walking mech with a duck-faced radar suite and a sleek framed mech.
.
ones that I made work was the cylindrical Syahuur-Dzhamiv and "dieselpunky" Kasdaq.. I should make a forum for them later...
For the calf assembly, I'd recommend a double-wishbone-style parallelogram linkage, controlled via a piston-and-spring unit connecting the femur to the metatarsal.
If speed performance isn't critical, you can forgo the piston and the thigh's lateral articulation.
Additionally, consider softening the springs between the metatarsal and phalanges.☝️🐱
sorry for my inactivity
@Monarchii Roller blades go vroom
Oooh my- is it first time trying to build mecha?👀
@Graingy the mech I was talking about, though I am procrastinating on adding weapons for now
@Wp0042 OH WHEELIE MECH GOD, GRACE ME WITH YOUR WISDOM(don't kill me).
.
yours are quite fun that I decided to try and make one for myself and I kinda like it currently, but if it's not too much work, what can I do to improve this?(beside making it realistic, though I dont mind hearing how to do exactly that)
