The new naval workhorse.

The SCF-61 Nimbus, introduced in 2014, is a 4th generation fighter that showcases Starcrest United's adaptability in both air and naval operations. Derived from the Dragonfly's airframe, the Nimbus was designed to meet the demands of modern warfare while maintaining reliability and versatility. Its dual service in Starcrest's air corps and naval air squadrons highlights its operational flexibility. Beyond Starcrest's forces, the Nimbus gained international recognition, serving in the air forces of Finland, Singapore, South Korea, and other nations. Its widespread adoption underscores its effectiveness and the trust placed in its design by various military organizations. It begun production in 2014 and is still in production today, expected to retire in the next decade.

The SCF-61 Nimbus is a highly versatile 4th generation fighter capable of excelling in a variety of roles, including air superiority, close air support, SEAD, reconnaissance, and ground strikes. This multi-role capability ensures its adaptability to diverse mission profiles, making it a reliable asset for both Starcrest's air and naval forces as well as its international operators.

For air-to-air combat, the Nimbus carries an impressive arsenal, including NUATA, SATA-76, SATA-78, SCATRAM NEO, AIM-7, AIM-9, and AIM-54 missiles. These provide flexibility across both long-range and close-range engagements. Additionally, its 20 mm cannon ensures effectiveness in dogfights and within-visual-range combat scenarios.

In surface attack missions, the Nimbus proves equally capable, armed with JDAMs, Paveway GBUs, Mighty Mouse rockets, SPAMGAM air-to-surface missiles, and the Starcrest-produced GASSAM 9s and MEGA GASSAMs. This diverse payload enables the Nimbus to strike a variety of targets with precision and efficiency, further solidifying its reputation as a dependable multi-role fighter. Let me know if you'd like to explore its operational history or its design evolution further.

Regarding the livery and squadron...

The 23rd Multirole Fighter Squadron "Playboys" is based in Skidder Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada. This specific Nimbus was first ordered in 1989 when it was still going through wind tunnel testing and was the 104th Nimbus to be produced.

Captain Norman "Blackjack" O'Doyle was the pilot of this fighter, logging in over 7,500 flight hours on it. As a huge fan of Hololive, he painted on a pin-up of Usada Pekora on the aircraft's tail. His Nimbus saw combat in the Starcrest PMC's most recent attack against extremists in Iran in 2028. He has 7 confirmed kills, 4 F-4 Phantoms and 3 F-14 Tomcats, making him an Ace for Starcrest United.
