XF-108A Specter is a late 90s experimental fighter tested in Area 51. People belived they saw a UFO, or a long stick flying in the sky. The US goverment ended the program after a deadly crash with a F-15 and the XF-108A colliding in the Navada destert, killing both the pilots in the crash.
