Douglas DC-3/C-47 Skytrain

34.0k AgDynamics  8.8 years ago

The Douglas DC-3 (and its military variant, the C-47 Skytrain) is the quintessential wartime airliner, and its development completely revolutionized air travel. There are even still DC-3s flying today, almost 80 years later.

It's also, in my own opinion, one of the most beautiful machines ever made, and I hope I did it justice.

you shouldnt really say wartime cause well, they were first developed and flown in the early 30s in the new breed of airliner with the 10Electra and Dh hummingbird and technically in the war it wasn't really acting as an airliner as most airliners were converted to cargo or paratrooper planes so most of its airliner carrier wasn't in the military, but yes, you did it justice :)
