After the Ravochkin Design Bureau of the Soviet Union put into batch production of L-9, and then modified on its basis to develop a single piston type escort fighter L-11, which is also the last piston type fighter developed by the Bureau, mainly used for the long-range bomber map-4 escort. L-1 The prototype of 1(code name: la-140) was first flown in May 1947 and put into mass production immediately after the August test flight.
