Fictional Japanese Aircraft.

Fictional Transitional Era (c. 1931-33)

Most likely Manufacture: Kawasaki
Code Name: Tanto
Role: Anti-ship operations, Bomber Interceptor

AG 2: Lights
AG 8: stabilizer, leave on.
Brake: Air Brakes

Weapons:
x6 Machine Guns
x 1 50 mm Anti-ship cannon
x 1 250 lb. standard torpedo

Flight/Contest Notes
Its stall speed isn't quite right as without the gyro it spins like crazy. But it does require long steady turns to avoid too much kick back.

I didn't have time to do a full 40 min test flight, but it should have enough fuel to go a significant distance

Trim up, it will climb to desired altitude, though you'll have to monitor trim so it doesn't go too high and lift no longer occurs and plane stalls out.

The fuselage inlets you see are decorations.

Fictional History
This aircraft combines some of the aspects of WW I aircraft and some of WW II technologies soon to come. The fiction is that Japan started their aircraft carrier program sooner and made a few minor leaps in technology/tactics which they used in military maneuvers and regional conflicts just prior to the outbreak of WW II.

Like many of the early aircraft, this one is pretty firm on its role, and not a true multi-role fighter. It can take down the slower heavy bombers, would work really well against blimps/zeppelins (an many folks honestly thought these would be a primary transportation device), and able to dissuade small patrol boats and cruisers.

However, the Tanto has some maneuverability issues, wasn't particularly fast, and its biplane design limited line sight of the pilot and was outdated before it was manufactured. The Tanto would not fair very well against lighter fighters, which would eventually lead to the development of the Zero.

Yeah it turns like a beast, sorry about that. But it indeed will stall like an early plane.

@Quazal16 All in all the airplane works, looks amazing especially for a challenge aircraft, only issues i have is the instability. The climb rate, MER, and acceleration are left to be desired, after all it's meant to be an interceptor. But that's just me being difficult, it was a joy to fly and felt like a N1K1 just without the floats. try making a pontoon version otherwise good design and very unique. i love the tiny details and colors as well. Astounding job!
