The Ai-16 was a prototype developed in private to satisfy the needd of the USAAC for bomber escort, this is the only one built. Short story, it was a failure, during high-G manouvers, the propeller engines would collide, causing the aircraft to essentially become a glider. It also has very low AOA capabilities.
