F-16B Block-5

Description

The F-16A/B Block 5 variants are the first minor modifications (or blocks) for the F-16. The changes are not that big, causing the change to be a block number instead of a full version change (such as the F-16C/D variants). The changes are a few drilled holes in several locations where the Block 1 planes would accumulate rain water, and the elimination of the black radome, as to fix the problem mentioned in the Block 1 posts.

The Airframe

78-0099 served mainly with the USAF Edwards AFB, and it also served with Nellis AFB for a short time. It then sported a red-white color scheme, and sadly, was then sent for storage at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (also know as the AMARG or the Boneyard), where planes are usually sent for decommissioning and dismantling.
