FA-18A Hornet USN VFA-151

1,275 4848  7 days ago

The F/A-18A Hornet, serving with VFA-151 “Vigilantes” in 1991, was one of the most versatile multirole fighters of the U.S. Navy. Designed to combine both air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, the Hornet could perform air superiority, strike, and close air support missions, adapting quickly to operational demands.

In 1991, during Operation Desert Storm, VFA-151 employed the F/A-18A primarily in combat air patrol (CAP) and strike missions, taking full advantage of its advanced avionics and reliable weapons systems.

The squadron’s F/A-18As were armed with AIM-9M Sidewinders for short-range engagements and AIM-7M Sparrows for medium-range interception, providing effective defense against airborne threats. In addition, the aircraft carried an internal M61A1 Vulcan 20mm cannon and could mount ordnance across nine external hardpoints, ensuring outstanding flexibility.

Key features of the F/A-18A Hornet (VFA-151, 1991):

Advanced digital avionics with HUD and computerized navigation systems.

AN/APG-65 radar capable of tracking and engaging multiple targets simultaneously.

True multirole capability, switching seamlessly between air-to-air and strike missions.

Standard armament: AIM-9M Sidewinder, AIM-7M Sparrow, and M61A1 Vulcan cannon.

High maneuverability and proven reliability under demanding combat conditions.

During the Gulf War, the VFA-151 Hornets demonstrated the effectiveness of the U.S. Navy’s multirole concept, operating as both fighters and tactical bombers within the same mission. Their versatility and survivability in hostile airspace cemented their role as one of the most significant combat aircraft of the conflict.

Oh Yea, About The Supermaneuverability, Try To Give Wing Physics On LERX, By Adding Wing Parts To Leading Edge Root Extension Or LERX (The Wing Survace From Main Wing Root To Near Nose). That Will Add Lift Un The Nose And Help The Aircraft To Reach Amd Maintain High AoA. Hope Thats Helpfull

@NewWorldAerospace Thanks, I'm glad someone thinks the same way, and I wish you 100,000. Please stay updated, because now, despite everything, I'll continue to publish versions of the F-18s based on what I've published. One question: how do I add the super maneuverability performance, for example, how can I make it do the Cobra?

    @4848 Im Agree With You
Before I Go To Long-ahh Yapp, Here Is Some Words To You, It Is Better (Or Even A Must !) To Ask For Permission First Before Modifying. Asking Permission Is Far Better Than Apologizing !
    ~
(Also, Relatable* We (Or I, As Former OkaNieba) 've Beefed With Them Too Before, Lets Pretend That They Think And Pretend That Their Builds Are The Best One In The Website, Just Like How We Face Scuderia Ferrari In Real Life.
    ~
Well, irl Example : Dead Mouse Ferrari Lawsuit
Because Of It, He Run And Choose Lambo After That.
    ~
Yea, Tbh, Back Then Im Kinda Like Them, Not Allowing Anyone To Touch My Arts. But After I Look At Some SP amd irl Examples Such As MAPA And Their Successor Arts Or Even Boeing/Lockheed Martin And Their Israelis And Japaneses Modifications. Seems Like They And Even Us Needs Help From Other People, Either To Improve Or Just To Spread Our Name And Creation.
    ~
Another Well, You May Use My Former OkaNieba Ace Combat / RD Collection Instead As An Alternative ! (But Request/Asm Permission To ReinMcDeer First) So You May Get A Good Yet Free Platform ! And Also Supporting Me Too !

@Inuyasha8215 I don't understand why you're so angry. I think I like your planes, but I like to touch them up with details to improve them in my opinion. Ultimately, I'm not doing anything wrong and I respect the rules of the game. At this point, I also want to ask you why you removed the A-4 Skyhawk from your posts, perhaps because of me?
I'm still sorry for causing you all this anger. In the end, you should be happy that people appreciate your products.
