Rumours abound as to how JAC acquired MAE's composite wing technology - was it corporate espionage, or was a small fortune paid to gain the wreckage of an MAE Lancer that went down in a sandstorm in North Africa? No doubt exists as to the results, however. JAC quickly incorporated CWT into their best selling Shrike interceptor, creating the Super Shrike. The Shrike's already good agility became phenomenal and, with the low unit cost of the Shrike and conversion kits readily available, the Super Shrike became the go-to choice for high performance air superiority world-wide.
