The Northrop F-5 is a family of supersonic light fighter aircraft initially designed as a privately funded project in the late 1950s by Northrop Corporation.

In December 1953, NATO issued NBMR-1, calling for a lightweight tactical fighter capable of carrying conventional and nuclear weapons and operating from rough airfields. In 1970, Northrop won the International Fighter Aircraft (IFA) competition to replace the F-5A, with better air-to-air performance against aircraft like the Soviet MiG-21. The resultant aircraft, initially known as F-5A-21, subsequently became the F-5E.

After some initial friction with the French regime in neighboring Algeria, Tunisia settled into a generally pro-Western foreign policy stance. In 1981, Tunisia ordered six or eight F-5Es and four F-5Fs for the Al Quwwat al Jawwiya al Jumhuriyal al Tunisiyah (Republic of Tunisia Air Force). Deliveries took place in 1984-85. These have since been supplemented by four ex-USAF F-5Es that were delivered in 1989. A total of 16 F-5E/F Tiger II aircraft remain in service in Tunisia. Since 2013, Tunisian F-5s have been used in strike missions in support of major offensives in the border region of Mount Chaambi against Ansar al-Sharia and al-Qaeda-linked militants

if you guys seen my previous post, then you would know I have other builds WIP, that are even older than this one. I just uploaded this one first as it's a very simple design and low part count compared to the rest. I might upload the Libyan MiG-21 around this week. I just started college so idk if I have time for the rest. Will you guys be ok if like 4 of those builds go beyond 200 parts? or have a seperate below 200 parts and a more detailed one?

very good F-5E, especially for the part count, the shape of it is better than most. there are few issues regarding the flight model, as it retains energy alot more than the actual f-5, but that might just be preference so idk. one thing that i think could be fixed though is the roll rate, the f-5 rolls fast enough to the point that a full-deflection aileron roll could structurally damage the airplane (a spring stop was put in the stick to prevent accidental full deflection)
my favorite thing about this build has to be the part count, it is VERY low for something with a livery and custom wings, so good job
