@slimetech they do when either Bowser or u run into them. Lol I ran into them to see if I could blow them all up. When I did one spawned in a different place. They deal 2 damage to u and kill Bowser in 1 hit, except in the final battle, where he dies in 3 hits.

@slimetech actually, they are spiked orbs and the orbs are dark blue with yellow spikes. At least they are in the DS version.
