Ve-105 "JagdBomber" (Torpedo Bomber Challenge)

10.3k VisionAviation  3.0 years ago
Auto Credit Based on flame0w's Torpedo Bomber Challenge [CLOSED]

The Jagdbomber is late WW2 fictional jet bomber, made for flying fast, long distances and carrying big payloads.
Powered by 4 Jumo jet engines this beast can cruise at 390mph at 80% throttle. It also has enough fuel to fly from Avalanche airport to Maywar and back.

It also has a mostly functional cockpit with functional Yoke, rudder pedals, throttle, gear lever, flaps lever and attitude guage.
(guage made by ChiChiWerx)

This version is equipped with 3 x Torpedo (Heavy, I've made them slightly larger and more powerful), 2 x 20mm front cannons and 2 machine guns in the rear turret.

Cockpit:

(gif is from the Nachtfalke but the cockpit itself is exactly the same)

Front cannons, bomb bay and torpedos:

Landing gear sequence

Activation 1: Open bomb bay
Activation 2: Drop payload in 0.8 seconds
Activation 7: Landing lights
Activation 8: All other lights

Trim: elevator trim...
VTOL for flaps.

Take-off speed with 50% flaps (VTOL 50%) is 145MPH
Landing speed is around 130MPH with 100% flaps (VTOL 100%)

Just like real WW2 aircraft, it is rather slow to respond on rudder pedal input for ground steering.
Normally WW2 planes didn't have powered steering and relied on differential breaking for steering, and throttle input if 2 or more engines were available.
This jet does have powered steering, but it's very slow.

It also takes a while to get up to cruising speed. The engines are not very powerful.

Disclaimer: There is a weird glitch where sometimes fuel seems to go much faster than normally. No clue why this happens and also no clue how to fix this. If you see the fuel draining quickly, just restart.

Have fun!

@Walvis Gok dat je ook een Nederlander bent met die naam? :P

So, I copied the codes for the gear animations from forums and stuff but as I'll try to explain it as far as I understand it.
    .
I use two of different "codes", one for delaying the retracting of the gear covers and one for delaying the extension of the main gear.
    .
For the gear covers retraction: -clamp01(ceil(smooth(clamp01(GearDown), 0.15)))+1
And for the main gear retraction: clamp01(smooth(LandingGear, 0.5) * 2)
    .
I can try and explain the meaning of the words and stuff but it's better explained here: https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1042680/Funky-Trees
    .
The only number I change in the codes are the 0.15 and 0.5. So in essence:
    -clamp01(ceil(smooth(clamp01(GearDown), x.xx)))+1
    clamp01(smooth(LandingGear, x.xx) * 2)
Where x.xx can be anything equal to or less than 1.
The way they seem to work is that they are a substract of 1. So the smaller the number, the longer the timer.
    .
That's all I understand about it to be honest. I basically just play around with the numbers until I get the result I want.
    .
Hope that somewhat clears things up, probably doesn't, lol... Wish I could be more helpful :)

Hey, I noticed that the landing gears doors open first before the gear moves. How is this done? Ofcourse, I can see the input in overload, but how does it work?
