The CF-29D Snow Leopard was the twin-seat variant of the CF-29C, developed to serve as both a conversion trainer and a multirole strike aircraft. Retaining the advanced avionics and weapons systems of the C-model, the D incorporated a lengthened fuselage and tandem cockpit layout, allowing a weapons systems officer or instructor to accompany the pilot. Beyond its training role, the CF-29D was fully capable of deep strike, maritime patrol, and precision ground-attack missions, utilizing the same armament compatibility with AIM-120s, AIM-132s, SCATRAM NEO, and SATA-76 Patriot systems. Outfitted with enhanced sensor suites and long-range navigation equipment, it became a versatile workhorse for the Royal Canadian Air Force, bridging the gap between training and combat operations while solidifying the Snow Leopard line as a cornerstone of Canadian aerospace engineering.
