Lowest Drag?

509 OlafGliders  8.3 years ago

I've Been experimenting with different styles and layouts of planes for the past ~20 hours. After many hours questioning the quite odd dynamics of the game eg. nosecone drag (wtf is up with that) i have created what i can proudly call my favourite plane so far. Not only is the drag insanely low, but the top speed is over 740mph in level flight, the flight time is up to ~25 min depending on throttling, and it can glide at speeds down to 50 mph. the drag hasn't been modified in the files (partly because i dont know how to XD) the only odd part of the plane is the fussilage rotated 45 degrees, mostly aesthetic (and to remove drag from the square shaped base of the cockpit sticking out the side). please give it a go and upvote if you like it

@ValtsuAircraftIndustries i think ii made a non powered one with 16 points, it handles better but falls out the sky at 50

Guys, i just realised, because the cockpit begins with zero drag due to clipping, the only force acting on it is gravity. the cockpit is naturaly boyant.
drag increases when entering water so water wont affect the speed of the cockpit however the cockpit will float along the top.

what im trying to say is crash your plane into the top of the water at top speed and the cockpit will travel at that speed indefinitly
