C-228 Stratomaster with SSTO

"To The Stars!"

ABOUT THIS PLANE:

The Last Part of The Special Cargo Plane Teaser which composed of 2 other builds a standalone C-228 and SSTO TAV-01A.

The C-228 that features a fully controllable cargo. I did this one because I want an operational cargo and it's not every day you get to see one of those. This also helped me learn the purpose of the auto-orient camera function and auto-orient means that it follows the orientation of the cockpit meaning when a plane features an independent control the camera will follow the movement of the cockpit regardless of the part to which the camera is connected is moving along the cockpit or not. This plane has also a few caveats like the HUD and PFD which follow the space shuttle because it is "Set As Cockpit" and I set the shuttle as the cockpit because I want the camera and the fuel indicated to be the space shuttle's. Also, when taking off, fight its auto-rotation by pitching, otherwise, Kaboom!

The TAV-01B has simple spacecraft landing gear and an auto hover system because I'm lazy now that this build has taken so long. the tav-01b is hard to control without its gyro on, so be careful if you disable the gyro,

This build All in All together with the previous standalone post of the C-228 and SSTO TAV-01A took about 5 months to build.

AIRCRAFT DESCRIPTION:

A C-228 Stratomaster carrying the SSTO TAV-01B Wayfinder.

The SSTO TAV-01B Wayfinder is a Single-Stage-To-Orbit Trans-Atmospheric Vehicle and is a version of TAV-01A tailored for c-228 as cargo and as an interplanetary space vehicle. The key difference between the a and b versions is their landing gear wherein the A version incorporates a conventional landing gear while the b version uses a spaceship landing gear for interplanetary missions.

NOTES:
  • Plane On Landing,
Set Throttle to 40 % --> Activate Autopilot (Inside Cockpit) --> Break to reduce airspeed --> Level with the horizon --> Glide until touchdown.

  • Plane On Cruise,
//// (With SSTO attached) Set Throttle to 75 %, and Activate Autopilot (Inside Cockpit).
//// (Plane Only) Set Throttle to 60 %, and Set Flaps to Full. / Activate Autopilot and Set Throttle to any < 50 %.

  • Plane On Refueling,
//// (Plane Only) Set Throttle to 65 % --> Activate AG5 --> Set View to Refueling Probe Cam for Easier Refueling --> Brake if necessary.
Activate Autopilot (Inside Cockpit) for Easier Levelled Flight.
//// (With SSTO attached) Set Throttle to 80 % --> Activate AG5 --> Go to Refuel Probe Cam for Easier Refueling --> Brake if necessary.
Activate Autopilot (Inside Cockpit) For Easier Levelled Flight.

  • SSTO On Landing,
Activate AG7 --> Set Throttle to 5 % --> Decrease Altitude until Auto Hover Activates --> Enable Landing Gear to Land.
It is not advisable to land on water because it's hard to get out.

  • SSTO On Atmospheric Cruise,
    Set Throttle to 20 %.
Full Throttle only when pointing towards space otherwise it will become hard to control or become uncontrollable.
Maximum Atmospheric Speed at Full Throttle until unstable is 8,000 mph.

  • SSTO Detachment,
Step 1 (Plane Control): Deactivate AG8 --> Activate Autopilot (Inside Cockpit) --> Set Plane Throttle to 75%.
    Step 2 (SSTO Control): After Step 1, Activate AG8 --> Activate AG7.

  • SSTO Reattachment,
Follow SSTO Detachment Procedures --> Set Throttle to 9% --> Align with the Plane --> Make sure SSTO connects to all the magnet points --> Deactivate AG7.

P.S Always Deactivate AG8 at Spawn otherwise you'll be firing the SSTO Engines!
