The A-12 supersonic Mach 3+ reconnaisance aircraft, produced by Lockheed's Skunk Works, was in operation from 1963 until 1968. A follow-on to the U-2 Program, the A-12 was a shorter, and possibly faster version of it's following SR-71 reconnaisance aircraft cousin. Only 13 A-12s were reportedly produced.
