The Germans began the development of vertical take-off and landing aircraft as early as 1938.At the same time for the high speed performance of both helicopter vertical launch capability and ordinary fixed wing aircraft,the Germans chose the tiltrotor aircraft in this very avant-garde ideas,the Weserfulg P1003/1 and accordingly for the development we now see the tiltrotor.
