Variant: Kornath KF-9C (introduced—August 4, 1988)
Weapons Load Out: Interceptor
Introduction:
The KF-9 is a Veridisian land-based interceptor and air superiority fighter made by Kornath solely for the Veridisian Air Force.
The KF-9 first flew on April 29, 1971 and entered service on June 19, 1976. Like the KF-7, its design was based off of the KF-5, albeit it utilizes an intake ramp. Fighter elements were mostly derived from the KF-7. However, the KF-9 was also built to fly at subsonic speeds to counter slower, low-altitude bombers and more maneuverable fighters. Newer variations of the KF-9 incorporate the usage of guided anti-ground munitions.
