Auto Credit Based on SchadeAircaftCompany's Carrier Borne Aircraft Challenge (Try 2) CLOSED

The Conquistador is Epic Engineering's entry for the Carrier Borne Aircraft Challenge by SchadeAircaftCompany's .

In an age of supersonic multirole behemoth war machine, we decided to take the approach which makes planes like the A29 Super Tucano viable.
A low cost, easy to maintain and efficient light attack platform which, despite being "light", can pack quite a decent punch.

Outfitted with the cutting edge of avionics, the 2 man crew can use this multirole vehicle in a myriad of ways.
The standard configuration is set up for both anti-shipping and air to ground operations, as well as 2 AAMs for self-defense.
The airframe is suitable for carrier operations, with its large flaps and airbrakes and arresting hook.
Flares and Chaff, standard in fighter planes of the day, also come as a standard.
This all comes at a cost that is significantly lower than the top of the line established jet fighters. And due to its compact nature, it is also much more compact, so you can store more of them on smaller vessels as well.

AG1: Wing Fold Mechanism (VTOL)
AG2: Arrestor Hook
AG3: External Lighting
AG4: Landing Light

A nice smooth flyer, I do enjoy the light attack concept for aircraft, although I have to say the tail drag configuration is weird for a “modern” aircraft, especially for carriers where all fixed wing aircraft today use a tricycle stance to have a catapult connection in the front for launches, even if not needed, but either way I still like it. Also kinda weird having the Gatling guns on the wings sticking out like that, usually it’s in the body of the aircraft or on Gun pods, but it’s fine the way you have it.
