This is my plane for the WW2 JET Challenge of WinsWings, the monstrous Arado E.555 in its version 10. Creating this plane was not easy, even though there are several photos, 90% are from version 1, and the version 10 there are only a few and very low quality plans, the turrets are unknown where they are located, although judging by the images it seems to have two under the plane.

History:

With its twin tailbooms design, this project differed significantly from other aircraft in the E 555 series. Previous studies had already provided sufficient data to select the best possible configuration. To this end, a conference was organized at the RLM on April 20, 1944.

Chaired by engineers Scheibe and Haspe, and in the presence of other Arado representatives, its aim was to define the definitive characteristics of the E 555 bomber. Arado had almost no experience concerning the flight characteristics of flying wings, which implied development difficulties and lengthy flight tests.

It was therefore decided to start from the E 555-9 and E 555-10 projects and to fix the vertical and horizontal stabilizers on beams located 4.80 m from the longitudinal axis. As on the E 555-7, power would be provided by three BMW 109-018 turbojets. The only difference was that the third engine was moved to the upper surface of the wing.

The main gear retracted into the wings and the nose gear under the crew cabin. The 4000 kilogram bomb load was partly in the cargo hold and partly under the outer wing sections. The crew of three was divided between the pressurized cockpit and the rear turret.

Speed: 920 km/h / 571 mph

Armament: 6 x 30mm Mk 103 / 6 Bombs (Boom 50)

Actually its maximum load was 4000 kg, but this is simple planes, 2 more bombs do not affect anything haha.

In the future I will create some of the other variants of the 555, some of which I plan to do: E.555-6 - E.555-7 - E.555-8a/8b - E.555-9 - E.555-11 (14). 8 and 9 is as easy as changing the tail.
