The SCB-31WZ Barsuk is Starcrest United’s competitive bid for Wzehkhastan’s 1978 Attack/CAS program — a hardened, loiter-focused derivative of the SCB-31 Badger tailored to fight in high-threat, low-level environments. At a loaded weight of roughly 32,000 lb, the Barsuk trades speed for protection and payload: an autoload 35 mm anti-armor cannon as the main direct-fire weapon, flexible underwing stations for rockets and guided stores, and six R-60 short-range AAMs for point defense.
Survivability is the headline: heavy armor around critical systems, tons of countermeasures, redundant systems, and simple maintainability for austere basing.
