The Lyle K4M1 Main Battle Tank
This model differs from the original K4 prototype, featuring a 125mm BS-K30 main gun. The BS-K30 is longer and operates at higher chamber pressure than the previous SUL gun, and it fires the MK-SE2 armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot round.
The MK-SE2 is an improved version of the MK-SEX, offering enhanced flight performance and post-penetration effects. When fired from the K30 gun, the round achieves a muzzle velocity of 1,735 m/s and an armor penetration capability of 710mm.
Note: The MK-SE2 is comparable in class to the DM-73, though performance differences are primarily due to the gun system. When fired from a more advanced main gun, the MK-SE2 can reach a penetration of 800mm and a muzzle velocity of 1,957 m/s.
The K4M1 is designed as an all-purpose tank. Due to the design of the unmanned turret autoloader, the space at the turret base (around the ammunition handling system) has been cleared, allowing accommodation for two additional crew members.
The tank operates with a crew of three: a commander, a driver, and a spare/assistant crew member.
Additional armor equivalent to the side protection level has been installed on the vehicle. A roof-mounted 20mm autocannon, equipped with one anti-aircraft missile, has also been added.
All other specifications remain the same as those of the original model.
