@BOSKnight idts. Like the F-35 full capacities and secrets aren't fully given to allies, even to those who bought it.

@GeneralCorpInc yes, but it should also be known to the allies.

@BOSKnight you know it should all be confidential initially? 😂

@GeneralCorpInc that is the ceiling, and if you, or B1Blancer sell it to some one, I have to ask what it is capable of so I can prepaid a war or not.

@BOSKnight my bomber have a service ceilling of 44,790ft (13,652m)

@BOSKnight but then gotta have the skill, it is not as easy as we things.
    .
And why would you even think about taking down your allie bombers?

@GeneralCorpInc I can reach 43,000 feet in the f-18, like wartime emergency power, it isn’t good for the engines.

@BOSKnight guns at a higher altitude than reachable would be difficult. Manual missiles are more realistic.

@GeneralCorpInc so then I could just use guns or manual missiles.

@BOSKnight the heat the missiles locks on are about 400 to 500°C for an easy 4km lock. The turboprop, at such altitudes, aren't passing the 200.
And with air cooling it even more, won't pass 150, as air at these height are usually -10 to -40°C

@BOSKnight like i said, it is not because props have 100° more than embiant that they are easely locked on by modern IR missiles at over 3km, so at such high altitude, even if the missile got 20km range, it firat gotta get lock on one point, and to down such a monster, you have either to use a super heavy Heat-seeking missile, but fire it near to get the lock, or use 2 missiles at least to wish to disable at least half its engines.

And IR missiles are low range to medium in modern era. In our era, the highest range possible for IR is 10km. Good luck with that. The missile's gonna need to be lunched so close first to lock and then to be able to climb even more than the plane's capacity. Reduces max range by at least 50%. Not of use if you want the minimal cost on interception.

@GeneralCorpInc cooling down the engines, and, if it’s colder, the engines would be an easier hit because they are one of the only hot things

    +1 17 hours ago
  • Profile image

@BOSKnight and moreover, at these altitude, air is so cold it plays against IR missile, heating down the engines

  • Profile image

@BOSKnight and no, the turboprops are more on heating, but they are not meant to heat like Jets. it still works mainly on Proppelers, and pulling and pushing air doesn't make radiators, otherwise, we would die in summer

  • Profile image

@BOSKnight they're turbo props, just like the C-130 Hercule and the Tu-95 Bear

@GeneralCorpInc I will start then. If these are just normal props, they would have to be very very hot to carry this beast, and so, a better and bigger heat signature. If it’s turboprops, especially contra props, which I assume this has, puts out a lot of heat.

@BOSKnight you know even modern IR missiles struggles getting catch on props. don't make me spitt whole paragraphs about don't be futuristic when we aren't even modern.

@GeneralCorpInc who said I would use radar that high? I have really good thermals, I just need to make it a scope.

@BOSKnight alr. so if it is an interceptor, it is more than antural it is easy to intercept my bomber... but you forgot one thing. this is the initial versions. upgrades will make it Radar-jammer, so BVR engagment will be hard. and i am studying some king of unique counter-measures. this bomber is one of the biggest danger nonetheless. and will be a bigger threat with the time.

@GeneralCorpInc it is a Naval interceptor, but if used on coastal areas it’s an air superiority fighter. The most my test pilots got it to was 43,573 feet. But the most comfortable was 39,980 feet. The missiles are long range even at that altitude.
