Introduce

Q-5 Jia is a special model for the delivery of tactical nuclear weapons, in fact, it is the throwing model of China's hydrogen bomb test. The lower part of the fuselage bomb compartment is removed from the hatch, forming a large depression, and the hydrogen bomb with a larger volume is hung with a semi-buried external.
The Q-5 Jia also provides the Chinese Air Force with a means of tactical nuclear attack, which is of great practical significance in countering tank clusters. On 31 December 1971, the first attempt to drop a hydrogen bomb was unsuccessful, and the aircraft was forced to return to land with the bomb.
On January 7, 1972, Yang Guoxiang of the Chinese Air Force flew the Q-5 Jia again to carry out the hydrogen bomb dropping mission. After completing a series of prescribed actions, Q-5 Jia threw the hydrogen bomb away from the aircraft, the hydrogen bomb detonated on time, the aircraft returned safely, and the hydrogen bomb test was completed.
