Background

The ZEV-5 Kodiak is an armored engineering and recovery vehicle developed by the Neorasia People’s Army during the Fourth Neorasia Civil War. The vehicle was developed using the chassis of the ZBT-10 Viper main battle tank, which was lengthened to accommodate a more powerful engine and transmission.

Operational History

The ZEV-5 Kodiak was first deployed during the Siege of Hanako City, where it proved effective in clearing minefields and battlefield obstacles installed by Mizuharan defensive forces. The vehicle also demonstrated strong performance in recovering damaged or disabled vehicles from forward combat zones under hostile conditions.

Armament

For self-defense, the ZEV-5 Kodiak is equipped with a Type-14K heavy machine gun chambered in 14.5×114 mm. The weapon is capable of penetrating lightly armored Mizuharan vehicles and can be operated via a remote-controlled weapon station from within the vehicle’s protected interior.

Post-war Service

Following the conclusion of the Fourth Neorasia Civil War, only approximately 260 ZEV-5 Kodiak units were reported to have survived. These vehicles were subsequently captured and operated by the Mizuhara Federation, though only in limited numbers.

The majority of the remaining ZEV-5 Kodiak vehicles were eventually transferred to Rayshadow Corporation following the Koryo-Shima War on Drugs, where they were repurposed for security and engineering support roles.
